Large Black Boar Brush

Brushing your hair properly is one of the most important elements in the maintenance and rejuvenation of your hair, especially when combined with a scalp massage. It is second only to proper diet and the use of holistic shampoos.

Daily brushing of the hair and scalp:

  • Far more cleansing than any commercial, artificial shampoo
  • Eliminates waste materials- deposits of uric acid crystals, catarrh and other acids and impurities that build up and become encrusted on the scalp
  • Stimulates the capillaries, increasing blood circulation and the transport of oxygen and nutrients to the hair stem, root and bulb
  • Stimulates hormone- and oil- producing glands, which keeps the pores of the hair and scalp open, allowing them to breathe and retain their natural oils

Hair loss problems can almost always be traced to the sebaceous glands - the natural oil-producing and lubricating system of your hair. If the glands are out of balance, they will either:

  • overproduce sebum
    - Hair follicles drown in their own oil, which interferes with the nourishment of the roots
    - Scalp is then weakened and the hair begins to fall out
  • under-produce sebum
    - Roots and follicles become undernourished, causing the hair to become dry and brittle and eventually fall out.

Oftentimes, the foreign matter from synthetic mousses, gels, sprays, shampoos and conditioners clog the pores and follicles of the scalp as well. These dangerous chemicals not only interfere with nourishment to the roots; they disrupt natural hair growth by confusing the sebaceous glands’ regulation of natural fallout and reproductive cycles.

Proper brushing and massage, when used in combination with holistic shampoos, helps bring the sebaceous glands into balance. Non-toxically cleansing your scalp and stimulating all glands and capillaries will nourish your hair to its radiant best!

Brushing is actually a form of dry-shampooing. Stimulation from the bristles distributes sebum throughout hair and scalp, making both stronger and more resilient. It’s also an excellent natural conditioner because coating hair with sebum as you brush restores moisture, giving hair added sheen, smoothed texture and greater manageability.

How To Massage Your Hair

Massage your scalp 1 to 3 times a day using a Natural Morrocco Method Scalp Massager. Never use plastic or artificial ones — they scratch the scalp and are invasive to your overall hair health.

Begin at the nape of the neck where the largest concentration of sebaceous gland is located, massaging gently but vigorously in a circular manner for 3 to 5 minutes or until you feel the scalp tingling from the flow of blood.

Combine the external benefits of properly brushing your hair with the internal result of stimulating deeper scalp tissues. Your reward will be sebaceous glands that produce a balanced, health-enhancing portion of sebum.

How To Brush Your Hair

Step 1
Stand erect, then bend over from the waist as far down as you can, allowing the blood to flow into the scalp. This increase in circulation stimulates and nourishes the entire scalp and follicles, activating new hair growth.

Step 2
Firmly grasp your brush handle, moving through the areas of the nape, sides and crown all the way to your front facial hairline. Brush in slow easy strokes for 3 – 5 minutes.

Step 3
Then stand erect again and reverse the process. This thoroughly coats your hair with sebum, allowing the “natural elixir” to condition and add body and luster to your hair.

Which Brush To Use

Using the proper brush is as important as properly brushing your hair. A natural-bristle brush is the best one to use. Boar bristles are ideal:

  • They are almost identical to human hair in texture
  • They are gentle and nonintrusive to your hair
  • They evenly distribute your natural oils while absorbing excess oil and removing foreign matter

The very finest boar bristle brushes on the market today are Morrocco Method Boar Brushes. Their unique, pneumatic rubber cushion allows the bristles to adjust to the contour of your scalp without pulling or breaking your hair, providing maximum stimulation without irritating the scalp.

There are 4 different types of Morrocco Method Boar Brushes to choose from, depending on the thickness of your hair and your scalp’s sensitivity. You have the option of selecting among very soft-bristled brushes or the more vigorously firm-bristled ones, as well as different sizes for home or travel use.

When To Brush

For the ultimate maintenance and rejuvenation of your hair, it is vitally important to maintain a schedule of regular brushing. For optimum results, brush your hair and scalp three times a day - in the morning, late afternoon and at bedtime.

Make brushing a habit. Set a regular schedule and commit to it. Nightly brushing is critical because by coating your hair with additional sebum, you will be conditioning your new growth of hair throughout the night.

Multi-Purpose Uses

Lightly stroke MM boar bristles over your entire body to both aid in sloughing off dead skin cells (much more safe than any chemical-based exfoliant sold in drug or department stores) and rev up your healthy blood circulation.

Ladies will get a closer, smoother shave if they use their MM brush gently over legs before applying a razor.

How to Clean Your Brush

Do not soak it—this could potentially ruin the real wood handle. However, it is good to take it into the shower with you and shampoo it with a MM shampoo of your choice. After shampooing, you can use the brush all over your body as a scrubber and exfoliater. This process will help to keep your brush clean and should be done about once a month.

To get a buildup of hair out of the brush bristles take the brush and brush it with another brush. This will help to remove the excess hair without needing to pull on each strand with your fingers. IMPORTANT: Never do this with a comb as that will remove the bristles and cause damage to your brush. If your brush is losing bristles on a consistent basis it means it is time to buy a new brush!
